About Danny Gerlach's 1977 Corvette

My home built hot rod is a 1977 C3 Corvette. The build started as a roller with no interior. And it has taken me the better part of 5 years to get it to this state.

Now for the good stuff!

The car’s foundation is a 4-bolt main, 350 Chevrolet block bored .030 over and fitted with flat top pistons and Lunati cam. The Vortec cylinder heads have been modified to accept more lift. While LS beehive springs and roller tip rockers keep things humming smoothly. A Cold Case radiator and electric fan make sure it all stays cool. Fuel is metered by a Demon carburetor on top of a Weiand dual plane manifold and Magnaflow 2.5 inch exhaust exit the spent gasses.

The TH350 transmission spins a 2800 stall converter and a TCI valve body handles the crisp shifts. 3.70 gears in the rear get power to the pavement.

POL tubular arms up front, a rear fiberglass mono leaf and Koni shocks all the way around help me stick the corners as I cruise the back roads of Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

There are some mild mods inside and out. The idea was to have the car appear stock at a glance, while at the same time giving it some personal touches.

It’s not going to win many trophies, but it sure is a lot of fun to drive. And I am very proud of the fact that I have done virtually all the work myself.

Thank you for checking out my ride. I’m looking forward to seeing you at a future NJSRA event.
