About Dave Elsholz's 1939 Ford Truck
In 2005, I found the project that I was looking for— a 1939 Ford Pickup. It was located in Connecticut. I made the purchase and once the truck was home, I quickly tore it apart for a frame-off restoration. I cleaned, repaired, restored and did all the bodywork and paint myself.
The truck is channeled, has a 9-inch Ford rear and a Mustang II front-end with coil overs. The 5.0 engine is out of a Mustang and was bored 30 over. A new crank was used along with a mild cam and Edelbrock heads.
With its rebuilt transmission, this comfortable ride is complete with air conditioning, electric windows, AM/FM stereo and Bluetooth.
All the work was done in my garage by me, with the help of a friend. The build took over 10 years, including lots of nights and weekends.
