About Jeff & Alex Foth's 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe (AKA Jiggs)

This 1940 Chevrolet was born at the Tarrytown New York plant as a black Special Deluxe with the rear seat. The car was purchased approximately 30 years ago by my father-in-law Frank Gigantelli and over a period of several years was converted into the rod you see today. The second interior was from a Chrysler 5th Avenue and now is from a mid 90’s Cadillac.

The 40 wears General Motors Aqua Metallic paint that was completed by Sonny Kraughn over twenty years ago.  The headlight bezels are from a 1974 Vega and the tail lights are from a 1952 Buick.  The engine is a 1989 Chevrolet 350 with an automatic transmission. The car was out of the public eye for seven years until the summer of 2022.

Alex and I are proud to show this car at every event and it brings great joy watching my father-in-law stand proudly next to his car.  Jiggs is displayed on the license plate and we consider the car another member of our family.
